Jasper / Lake

Pyramid Lake & Island

A mountain-backed lake with a short bridge to Pyramid Island. It works well as a quieter half-day around Jasper.

Drive

1–2 hours · 290 min drive from Banff*

Where to park · how to get there

Use the signed beach, roadside viewpoint or island parking on Pyramid Lake Road. The island lot is small; resort spaces are not general overflow.

When to arrive

Planning target: before 9 am or later afternoon for a short visit. This is a crowd-avoidance suggestion, not a measured fill time or guaranteed space.

Hours & access

Outdoor visit: plan for daylight. There are no staffed opening hours verified here; current closures and signs take priority.

Footing & accessibility

Island approach has a ramp, uneven natural surfaces and a small bridge step.

Jasper is a long drive from Banff. The estimate is one-way, before stops, traffic and weather. An overnight stay makes these stops more practical.
